Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams today said he was confident that the Provisional IRA would hand over its arms.

Ahead of a meeting with Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in Dublin, Mr Adams also called on the British and Irish governments to honour their own commitment.
"I'm quite confident and satisfied the IRA will honour its commitment, I think the rest of us have to honour our commitment and that includes the Government," he said.
With speculation intensifying that the Republican movement is taking unprecedented steps to dump all of its weaponry, Mr Adams said the move would herald a new beginning for Irish politics.
He refused to comment on when the decommissioning would take place.
"I suppose like everybody else we're waiting for the IRA to do what I think most people have not yet understandably absorbed the importance of, that is following through on its formal ending of its campaign, going to put weapons beyond use.
"That I think opens up a completely new vista."
Mr Adams and Sinn Fein chief negotiator Martin McGuinness are holding talks with the Taoiseach, Foreign Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern and Justice Minister, Michael McDowell, one of the Republican movements fiercest critics.
