Celtic strikers Maciej Zurawski and Chris Sutton could return from injury for Saturday's Old Firm visit by Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.
Manager Gordon Strachan insists that he would not have a problem changing a winning team, but Zurawski and Sutton are likely to be on the bench.

Rangers will be without defenders Olivier Bernard and Julien Rodriquez through injury.

But Brahim Hemdani is fit to return to Alex McLeish's midfield.

Forward Thomas Buffel is on the way back from a knee problem but will not be fit for the game at Celtic Park, along with striker Nacho Novo.

Gran partita da parte di Nakamura,McGeady e Hartson.
Ragazzi finalmente gli automatismi di questa squadra cominciano a funzionare,l'inizio è stato duro ma ora sta venedno davvero fuori quello ke puo essere definito un vero panzer d'attacco!

Strachan happy with finishing
McLeish looking to Porto challenge
Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the SPL and increased the pressure on Rangers boss Alex McLeish with a comfortable Old Firm victory.


John Hartson shot Gordon Strachan's side into a 12th minute lead, with the visiting defence posted missing.

Bobo Balde glanced in a neat header after 56 minutes and Aiden McGeady steered home a Stilian Petrov cross just a few minutes later.

Rangers now trail Celtic by 15 points and lost striker Dado Prso to injury.

McLeish, who has been told his position will be reviewed by the club next month, saw his side battle gamely for the first 45 minutes.

However, the visitors seldom threatened the Celtic defence and faded completely once a second goal had been conceded.

Celtic did not hit any great heights but coped easily with whatever their opponents could muster and always enjoyed a more creative edge.

A typically frantic opening saw both defences make a number of nervous mistakes but neither goalkeeper was called into action.

Rangers striker Francis Jeffers was given an early glimpse of goal but his shot from the edge of the penalty area flew high and wide.

The visitors were then punished for some slack play when Hartson netted his 101st goal for Celtic. Alan Hutton's poor cross-field pass was cut out by Shunsuke Nakamura, who found Maloney in space on the right.

The Scotland youngster delivered a swift low cross into the centre of the penalty box and Hartson swept the ball home with ease.

Rangers passed up a great chance to level soon after when Hamed Namouchi headed a Barry Ferguson cross wide from seven yards out.

Ferguson then broke free of the home defence but goalkeeper Artur Boruc did well to gather the ball at the Rangers skipper's feet.


Balde scored with a second half header

Rangers were claiming for a penalty early in the second half when the ball struck the arm of Celtic defender Paul Telfer.

The home side survived the weak appeal and doubled their lead a few minutes later.

Nakamura turned and twisted before whipping in a great cross for Balde to steer a header beyond Ronald Waterreus, who was preferred to Stefan Klos in the Rangers' goal.

The Dutch keeper was beaten again on the hour and he appeared to be at fault.

A delivery from Stilian Petrov was met by McGeady and the youngster's side foot finish from 10 yards crept under the outstretched hands of Waterreus.

To make matters worse for the defending champions, Prso limped off with a hamstring injury and must now be a doubt for the midweek trip to Porto.

Jeffers managed to squeeze a low shot on target but it was straight at Boruc, while the 'keeper also kept out a Fernando Ricksen free-kick as Rangers made it six games without a win

Secondo il mio parere il campionato scozzese è sempre stato dominato da 2 squadre..Rangers e Celtic..solo raramente si è visto altre equipe sul trono..alex potresti postare tutti i trofei vinti sia campionati che Fa cup con i relativi vincitori?

Cè da dire che da anni inoltre i Rangers sono decisamente crollati..non è piu la squadra di una volta...ed è la verita come ricordare la grande difesa di qualche anno fa quando vincevano tutto?

Non posso che accogliere la vittoria del Celtic con grande gioia... non avessi già "pintato" nel minimeeting appena trascorso aprirei una lattina di Moretti, ma sono nell'autocontrollo! Toh via, domani correggo l'espresso con la sambuca... oppure la sambuca con l'espresso, boh?

Indubbiamente non sono piu quelli della squadra degli anni '90,d'altronde i cicli si aprono e si chiudono,ora alla ribalta c'è il Celtic, dal 2000 a oggi ai Rangers ha lasciato solo le briciole, questo sicuramente non perke i Rangers non sono forti,ma perke il Celtic è superiore!
Con questo voglio solo dire ke mi sembra che quando il Celtic vince e convince è sempre per demerito degli altri e poco per merito suo..

Il livello al contrario di quanto dici a me sembra salito (quest'anno il campionato per la prima volta da un po di tempo è un po piu equilibrato del solito.. ci sono 4 squadre ke possono lottare per lo scudetto -celtic,rangers,hearts,hibernian - )
La scozia a seguito dei risultati in europa delle sue squadre ha conquistato un'altro posto per la champions league (prima si qualificava solo la prima, ora anke la seconda)

Per il resto è come dici tu,il campionato è sempre stato dominato da loro due, hannno vinto credo l'80% dei campionati.
Appena trovo qualcosa posto tutti i trofei..

Io credo ke il campionato scozzese possa essere paragonato a quello olandese.Se ci fate caso anke in Olanda la situazione è analoga: 3/4 squadre ke lottano per il titolo,poi il vuoto.Il livello stiamo li + o -

Alla fine si spartiscon loro 2 i trofei nazionali..non capisco perche vogliano andar in Inghilterra,alla fine arrivando una prima,l altra seconda,andranno sempre in Champions e quindi i soldi dei diritti li prendono..
Andando nel campionato inglese avrebbero un immagine maggiore,ma col rischio 1)di non essere accolti dagli inglesi 2)di non arrivare nemmeno in zona Uefa,dato che in Inghilterra è tutto piu difficile,Manchester,Liverpool,Chelsea,Arsenal,Totthenam,NewCastle sono supriori credo..voi che ne pensate?

Sul fatto che Hibernian e Hearts potrebbero vincere ok,ti do ragione..piuttosto che livello alzato in generale,credo come ho detto che sia sceso un po quello di Rangers(sicuramente) e Celtic(che nonostante tutto gira a mille),le altre squadre di medio bassa classifica sono rimaste mediocri,mentre le Edimburghesi hanno migliorato la loro organizzazione..

Hearts of Midlothian=squadra sull orlo del fallimento,presa in mano da un presidente lettone,che ha comprato a parametro zero tutti giocatori Lettoni,Lituani,Polacchi dove i titolari hanno una stipendio massimo di 150mila euro l anno..facendo un vero colpo fino ad ora,sfido che se fosse andato in Inghilterra o Italia a fare una cosa del genere avrebbe ottenuto questi risultati..

Non voglio essere crudele..ma a dire il vero l anno scorso il demerito è stato suo e il merito dei Rangers..
Scusa la battuta cattiva..è per ironizzare un pochino..perder un campionato all ultima giornata non è da tutti..e sinceramente non me lo aspettavo...come non mi aspettavo che dopo un inizio opaco quest anno,avrebbe avuto questi risultati..

ogni stagione ha storia a se e se si vuole vincere,qualsiasi campionato sia..OLANDA,SCOZIA,BURUNDI,Eccellenza Italiana,Serie A Irlandese,terza categoria italiana..beh per dirla breve,se vuoi vincere devi essere piu bravo degli altri..e il Celtic quando lo ha fatto lo ha sempre dimostrato

Celtic issue Keane wages warning

Roy Keane has talked about playing for Celtic
Celtic chairman Brian Quinn has insisted midfielder Roy Keane will have to accept a substantial cut in wages if he wants to join the SPL leaders.
The 34-year-old, a free agent after leaving Manchester United on Friday, has attracted early interest from Wigan, Bolton and Portsmouth.

Keane has previously said he would like to end his career at Celtic, but at United he earned about £90,000 a week.

Quinn told Radio Five Live: "That's a sum that's out of the question for us."

The Celtic chairman revealed he and manager Gordon Strachan had not discussed as yet whether the Glasgow club would want to sign Keane.

Quinn said: "Would he fit into Gordon's plans? The team is playing very well at the moment and they look settled.

"You wonder whether you would want interrupt things, but that's up to Gordon.

"The other question to consider is the business side.

"We would have to wait and see what Roy Keane is proposing, if indeed he's looking for anything at all from Celtic.

"When he first talked about leaving United as far as I can see the word Celtic didn't pass his lips."

Keane officially left Old Trafford by mutual consent, although reports claim it was a result of a bust-up with manager Alex Ferguson.

Whichever club Keane joins he will not be able to make his debut for them until 1 January.

Although Keane's United contract was cancelled "by mutual consent", Fifa rules stipulate that no player subject to such a move would be allowed to sign for a new club outside the next available transfer window.

...sabato scorso a genova abbiamo parlato seriamente di questa trasferta in Scozia, io se organizziamo in tempo non dovrei veramente avere problemi e voglio assolutamente venire, se possibile senza pon pon, se poi sono indispensabili vedremo, preferisco calarmi nel ruolo di tifosa lo sapete...!
la maglia del celtic non la ho ancora, sarà una buona occasione per comprarmela!!
se si decide la partita si parte e vediamo prezzi, giorni e tutto il resto...secondo me si fa un bel gruppo!

Il punto è proprio questo.Se Keane firma per il Celtic dovra ridursi lo stipendio almeno del 50% credo,altrimenti non se ne fa proprio nulla..
Non ne ho proprio idea di quando prendano di stipendio i giocatori.
No Denny non è una novità è sempre stato cosi.Finito il campionato ci sono altre 5 partite aggiuntive (i playoof e playout appunto)Le prime 6 fanno i playoff e le ultime 6 i playout (perke sono 12 squadre in totale).

The club are keen to open talks with the former Manchester United skipper, who left Old Trafford on 18 November.
Keane, a Celtic fan, could move to the Scottish Premier League for no fee as he is a free agent, although his wage demands could be a stumbling block.
The 34-year-old is also believed to be weighing up options at several other clubs in England and on the continent.
West Ham and Bolton were the latest Premiership club to confirm their interest, joining West Brom, Portsmouth, Manchester City and Wigan.
However, Celtic are thought to be Keane's first choice.
The former Republic of Ireland captain once stated he would like to end his career at Celtic Park, but chairman Brian Quinn has already expressed his concern about his wages.
Keane is believed to have earned £90,000 a week at Old Trafford and Quinn told BBC Five Live that such a sum is "out of the question" for Celtic.
Officially, the club are playing down their talks with Keane.

Steven Pienaar wants to leave Ajax
South Africa midfielder Steven Pienaar could tell Celtic next week whether he is interesting in a move to Glasgow.
Agent Rob Moore says that the 23-year-old wants to leave Ajax either in January or when his contract expires at the end of the season.

"We will probably wrap up everything by the end of the month," Moore told The Herald newspaper.

"There has been interest from all the major leagues - England, Italy, Spain and Germany."

However, Moore stressed that winning a regular place in the first team of his next club is Pienaar's priority.

"That means he's not necessarily going to join the biggest club or take the offer with the most money," he said.

Celtic might prefer to wait until the summer, when he can move without a transfer fee.

"With Ajax going through to the next round of the Champions League, they might figure it is better to keep him for the season," said Moore.

"It's doubtful they could buy a replacement with the transfer fee they would get in January."
