"Peggy Bawn" - The 111th Year of a Victorian Beauty

Hal Sisk has lectured extensively in Ireland and abroad on his favourite topic, yachting history. He is a former Chairman of the National Maritime Museum, and co-founder of the Irish Sea Racing Association.
In his latest project he has gone to ever grater lengths to achieve a museum-like restoration, while recreating the fully functional and supremely elegant late Victorian fast cruiser the "Peggy Bawn"which is the subject of his talk at the RDS. In it he will give details of her origins in Carrickfergus, her reconstruction in Dunmore East, her cruise around the Fastnet and back to Dublin, and her competing in regattas in Glandore, Cannes and St Tropez
