Best out of immediate danger
Tuesday, 04 October 2005

Former Man United and Northern Ireland legend George Best's condition has improved and he may be moved from intensive care

George Best is out of immediate danger and could be moved from intensive care in the next 24 hours as the Manchester United legend fights a serious kidney infection.

The doctor in charge of Best's care at the Hospital in west London, said the former European Footballer of the Year is improving steadily.

He admitted it will take time for Best to fully recover and has insisted Best's condition was not directly related to his well-documented struggle with alcohol problems.
