Loyalist feud could have led to shooting
18 May 2004 12[SM=x145458]7

It is believed the man shot dead in east Belfast this morning may have been the victim of a developing feud between loyalist paramilitaries.

Brian Stewart, 34, was behind the wheel of his car when he was ambushed on his way to work in an industrial estate in the Castlereagh area.

It is thought Mr Stewart was linked to the Loyalist Volunteer Force, which has been involved in a series of violent clashes with the rival UVF.

His attacker's car was later found burnt-out nearby.
