Paisley dixit
The DUP leader, Ian Paisley, has said the police in Northern Ireland or MI5 should publicly reveal what they know about the alleged retention of weapons by the IRA following its act of decommissioning last year.

Dr Paisley also claimed that the British government and the IRA was involved in a cover-up over the issue of decommissioning.

Dr Paisley was speaking after he and senior party members met the head of the independent arms decommissioning body, General John de Chastelain, in Belfast.

In September last year the British and Irish governments and many politicians believed the thorny issue of Republican weapons had finally been dealt with after the IRA carried out an act of arms decommissioning, which was over seen by general John de Chastelain and two independent witnesses.

However just a few weeks ago a fresh controversy over IRA decommissioning emerged when the IMC said British security sources in Northern Ireland had told them the IRA had retained a range of weapons.

General De Chastelain disputed this saying he was satisfied the IRA had completely decommissioned its weapons.
