Salve a tutti,

Siobhán Kennedy (vocals, flute, whistle, fiddle) & Sabine Pichler (fiddle)

Siobhán Kennedy grew up in a musical family in the North East of Ireland and learned to play music by ear as passed on by her father, Rory. Her childhood summers were filled with musical events throughout Ireland. As an adult she toured all over Europe both as a soloist and with the band “Lá Lugh” as a musician, dancer and teacher. She has featured as a guest musician and singer on various CDs, television and radio programs, and is in ever-growing demand to give workshops.
Playing the irish fiddle has been Sabine Pichler's passion for the last
15 years. Her main influence was the fiddle playing of Dundalk fiddle
player Gerry O'Connor. But recently she also found a great interest in
the fiddle playing of Denis Murphy, Michael Coleman and John Joe
Gardiner. Sabine now plays with two Irish music bands. The Irish Trad.
Heads and the trio Swaree that concentrates on playing for Irish Ceilis
and Irish Dance workshops. For many years she taught the Irish fiddle
at meetings of the German Uilleann Pipes Society. That is where she met
Siobhán Kennedy who usually teaches the flute and step dancing at those gatherings.
