The Dublin LUAS routes are drawing to completion.


Dublin's first two LUAS routes are almost ready for the launch of passenger services. Pictures and a LUAS map is available from the LUAS website.

The Dublin LUAS tram system is set to provide a state of the art public transport system for Dublin. The LUAS routes include three main Lines running from Tallaght to Abbey Street (Line A), St. Stephens Green to Sandyford Industrial Estate (Line B) and thirdly from Abbey Street to Connolly train station (Line C). Other LUAS routes that are still under application for construction include an extension of Line B to run from Sandyford Industrial Estate to Cherrywood and also an extension of Line C to run from Connolly Station to the Point Depot.

The Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) is responsible for the development of this state of the art public transport and plans to introduce a National Integrated Ticketing system focusing initially on the Greater Dublin area. The RPA plans to begin implementation of this new ticketing system in October 2004. Their goal is to begin introducing this new ticket system to the LUAS routes and then introduce it nationwide.

Che palle,stanno lavorando proprio davanti all hotel dove lavoro,e' una cosa insopportabile...e gli ospiti,poi...

Ebbene
sono orgogliosa di annunciare che
Domenica mattina alle 9,45 mentre lavoravo,davanti al ns Hotel e' passata la prima Luas,sperimentale,in Store Street.
Proveniva da Heuston con circa mezzora di ritardo,non male come primo giorno,ed era seguita da poliziotti e fotografi.

Ovviamente io e il mio collega portoghese abbiamo mollato la reception e siamo usciti in strada,per qs momento storico,e qd la LUAS e'passata in tutto il suo splendore,abbiamo fatto pure la OLA e il driver rideva....hahahaa

che momento...ragazzi....
emozionante eh

E dire che a me sarebbe bastato di avere un dublin bus (leggasi: dooblin'boos) vicino casa, quando non voglio prendere la macchina (cioe' quando gradirei farmi una o due pinte, cioe' sempre) mi devo fare un po' di strada a piedi e se piove cio' non e' bello.

Io trovo che sia una trovata molto intelligente dato che a Dublin c'è un traffico da far paura!!!

Devo dire che sono molto belli e molto moderni... molto meglio che la Svizzera...! Complimenti Dublino!!!
