SIX NATIONS TICKET PRICES SET

Scottish Rugby is freezing ticket prices for the visits of Wales and Ireland to Murrayfield in the 2009 RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Under the prices, announced today, students and under-18s will be able to watch Scotland's other 2009 home game, against Italy, and sample the special atmosphere of Murrayfield on a Six Nations day for as little as £10.

Scottish Rugbys Chief Executive Gordon McKie said: "International match days at Murrayfield are an important source of revenue to fund rugby activity at all levels throughout the country.

Clearly there is a balance to be struck between giving as many supporters a chance to be in the stadium in person and reinvesting ticket revenues in the game in Scotland.

I believe todays announcement, where we have frozen our core Six Nations ticket prices, yet still managed to find an attractive offer for youngsters and students, many of whom play the game, underlines our intention to ensure we remain competitively priced and that international rugby remains accessible to all our supporters."

Scotlands home matches in the 2009 RBS 6 Nations Championship are against Wales on Sunday 8 February (kick-off 3pm); v Italy on Saturday 28 February (3pm); and v Ireland on Saturday 14 March (kick-off 5pm). Scotland defeated both Wales and Ireland when they last visited Murrayfield.

Tickets for the visit of Wales and Ireland cost £30, £45 and £60 for adults with under-18 reductions at £15, £22.50 and £30.

For the Italy game adult tickets are £20, £30 and £60 with students and under-18s able to buy tickets at £10, £15 and £30.

The tickets go on sale from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, Roseburn Street, Murrayfield, Edinburgh, next Tuesday (6 May) at 9am. The Ticket Centre is open from 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

The same hours of operation apply to our credit card hotline (Tel: 0131 346 5100); or you could log on at your convenience to the Scottish Rugby website www.scottishrugby.org and book there. Please note there are booking fees for all credit and debit card transactions and no tickets will be on sale on each match day.

Official Scottish Rugby travel packages to all Scotland's RBS 6 Nations 2009 games will be announced shortly. As these limited edition packages, which will include guaranteed match tickets, are sure to prove popular we would urge supporters to register interest as soon as possible.

Supporters can email their name and a contact telephone number to supportertravel@sru.org.uk and we'll get back to them soon with details of all the packages on offer.
