Cio significa che in questi pochi mesi,son gia stati qui 2.000.000 di turisti!

The overseas travel figures released by the Central Statistic Office (CSO) today have been welcomed by Tourism Ireland with overall visitor numbers for the first four months of this year
showing an increase of +13% on 2005.
Paul O’Toole, Chief Executive, Tourism Ireland, said: “The CSO statistics for the first four months indicate a more positive beginning to the season than in recent years. With events such as the Ryder Cup playing in Ireland’s favour, the outlook is certainly more positive but there is still some way to go.
The strong performance from Britain, up +12% in the early months, shows that this important market is starting to recover.
Europe, our star performer last year, continues to perform well (+21%) and we are particularly pleased to see North America also start to show encouraging signs with +13% growth in April giving an increase of +2% overall for the first four months of the year.
“The critical factor in the overall results is how they translate for all the tourism enterprises throughout the regions.
Feedback from the industry continues to tell us that business is not evenly spread and not all of the regions are enjoying this growth in visitor numbers. A number of new initiatives are in place in 2006 to address these issues. The Ryder Cup, one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world takes place later in the year and will give a significant additional boost to the industry. We are exploiting all possible overseas marketing opportunities to capitalise on the potential of this most important sporting event.”
