5. Try to go the whole year without visiting Dublin (Attending Croke Park the only exception*)
Nothing wins approval and respect in a Cork pub more than being able to say “Yera, I wouldn’t know…sure I haven’t been to Dublin in years” when somebody brings up a topic relating to Dirty Aul Town.
You contribute enough to Dublin with your taxes why contribute more to their economy with your presence? At the end of the day Dublin has nothing for the Corkonian but a tiny zoo, a spike and pubs that you’d have to get a bank loan out especially to get drunk.
In days gone by Corkonians often travelled to Dublin for the shopping, the zoo or to get a flight somewhere. All these reasons are now obsolete – we have it all in Cork.
Instead of visiting friends in Dublin make them come home more often and always keep the pressure on them to move back south. Not contributing to the Dublin economy is your duty as a Corkonian: the only exception should be All Ireland day or supporting CCFC on enemy soil.
