Voglio invece semplicemente segnalarvi un'annuncio letto ieri sul bollettino quindicinale di offete di lavoro selezionate "Informannunci"(del 27 Novembre 2003)

La Irish Archeological Consultancy, per scavi che interessano in modo particolare l'area neolitica in Newgrange,Knowth e Dowht, cerca 40 ARCHEOLOGI per un processo di sistemazione e di catalogazione di reperti.
Si richiede laurea o diploma in archeologia con min.3 mesi di esperienza.
Si offre alloggio (in un ostello 55 IEP per settimana) e retribuzione min. di 300 IEP settimanali.

Mi basterebbero vitto e alloggio... deve essere una gran bella esperienza. Qualcuno ha fatto qualcosa di analogo in passato ?

Rileggendo meglio sul sito che ha segnalato Annalisa ho trovato molte informazioni sul tipo di lavoro.
Unico problema : si parla di marzo-aprile 2001 [SM=g27812]
ecco perchè i valori erano espressi in sterline.

Se qualcuno riesce a trovare altre informazioni che a me sono sfuggite (non sono un'aquila del monitor) me lo faccia sapere : la prossima primavera mi scade il contratto di lavoro in Italia (o meglio, i miei lavori sottopagati) e voglio provare a vedere se qualcosa del mio curriculum può interessare loro.





Irish Archaeological Consultancy are currently recruiting for a major motorway development in County Louth. Approximatly thirty miles north of Dublin.

We are currently for looking for site assistants and archaeolgical workers for long term contracts. If you are interested in the position please mail akehoe@iac.ie if you have wish to apply.

Irish Archaeological Consultancy Ltd is currently undertaking a number of major prehistoric excavations as part of the M1 Dublin-Belfast motorway. The sites are located 2 miles from the centre of Drogheda, Co Louth, a large town 30 miles north of Dublin City.

A total of 26 sites under the present contract will be excavated from now until April-May 2001. The area under consideration is in the Boyne Valley and is one of the richest prehistoric landscapes in the country, with the major Neolithic passage graves of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth occurring within 5 miles of the current excavation areas.(view map 138k)

Initial results from the ongoing excavations indicate that the majority of the sites date to the Early Bronze Age period. The sites range from 30-40m enclosures to small hut sites, ritual structures, etc.

IAC are currently looking to expand upon the team of 50 archaeologists working on the project at present. We are a well-organised unit, working to the highest professional standards. We welcome both people with experience and those beginning their archaeological career to apply for the available positions.

We are offering employment as Site Assistants to suitably qualified people at £300 (about £240 sterling) per week. We can guarantee employment up to April 2001 and possibly (but not guaranteed) beyond that date.

If you do not already have an Irish Pay Related Social Insurance Number PRSI) you will be required to have on in order to avoid being taxed at the emergency rate which is considerably higher than the normal rate. A PRSI number may be obtained from the Labour Exchange, Custom House Quay, Drogheda tel: 041-9838626. You will need our Employer Number which is 828812 U, Unit 758.

You will be required to have an Irish bank account into which your salary will be paid. If you do not already have an Irish bank account you will need some form of identification showing your photograph in order to open an account.

We operate a week-in-hand policy when paying wages, that is to say you will receive your first week’s wages at the end of the second week, and the second week’s wages at the end of the third week and so on. This means that you will not receive any money until you have been working for two weeks.

There are two hostels available in Drogheda but it would also be possible to commute from Dublin every day

To commute from Dublin there is a train every day from Connolly Station to Drogheda at 07[SM=x145460]0 which arrives into Drogheda at 08[SM=x145457]5 which is in time for the 08[SM=x145459]0 start on site. The site finishes at 17:00 and there is a direct train back to Dublin from Drogheda at 17[SM=x145460]0 which arrives into Dublin at 18[SM=x145457]4. A 5-day return ticket is £33, a day return is £10.50.

EEC nationals who intend working in Ireland need identification showing a photograph in order to open a bank account. Overseas (non-EEC nationals) may need a work permit and in certain cases may also need a visa. Please reply to akehoe@iac.ie.
