IKEA to seek permission for Dublin store

The Swedish furniture retailer, IKEA, will lodge a planning application for its new store in Dublin later today. The company will ask Fingal County Council for permission for a 30,000 square metre shop in Ballymun.

Last year, the Government decided to remove a limit on the size of retail outlets in certain designated areas. IKEA's project manager in Ireland, Theresa Daly, said she believed the application met all the tests of national policy as well as local and national planning guidelines.

The company has rejected suggestions that the new shop will lead to traffic congestion on the M50 motorway. If planning permission is granted the new store will create up to 500 new jobs in Ballymun.

C'e' un negozio che ha aperto da pochi mesi,HABITAT,che ho letto sia dello stesso proprietario di Ikea,ed e' qui vicino a Dame St. ma i prezzi sono allucinanti..
Quindi speriamo nell'Ikea..Anche perche' a Ballymun c'e' poco altro di bello..

habitat c'e anche da noi ma ti scuoiano solo a guardarli.
speriamo nell'avvento dell'ikea e dei letti king size ( anche dei bagni con bidet magari... )

A quanto pare allora sono riusciti a sviare la legislazione irlandese che non permette a nessuna attività commerciale di superare i 6000 metri quadri...

Non festeggiate troppo per i prezzi, perchè è già stato annunciato che i prezzi dei prodotti saranno diversi dal resto d'Europa, e si adegueranno agli stipendi...

"‘Pricing from Dublin to Belfast will be transparent. It will be simply a matter of currency conversion,” she said.
‘‘But if you’re comparing Ireland to markets like Italy and Spain, there will be differences.
‘‘The products will be priced to the market, but the differences won’t be substantial.”

Soprattutto si adegueranno ai prezzi del Nord, se costasse molto meno per quelli che abitano li diventerebbe conveniente andare a comprare le cose a Dublino...
