Third series of Dr Who is commissioned
A third series of 'Doctor Who' has been commissioned by the BBC, it has been announced.
The first series is due to come to a close on Saturday next, when Christopher Eccleston will relinquish the lead role in the show.
'Casanova' star David Tennant is due to take over as the new Dr Who in the second series. It has also been confirmed that former pop singer Billie Piper will continue to play Dr Who's assistant Rose for the second series.
Russell T Davies is confirmed to be writing six episodes for the upcoming series, which will begin shooting next month.
